Kristie loves working with people. She has a heart for others, and has the rare ability to be in the midst of pain, trauma and healing with you. With Kristie in your struggle with you, instead of feeling scared, alone and not knowing what to do, she helps reduce your anxiety, and together figure out next steps to create the life you want. You know you are not alone anymore.
In addition to life experience and her innate gifts and personality, Kristie's two previous careers provided a plethora of knowledge and experience. As a credentialed educator, Kristie learned the world of a child. She was honored to share every weekday with more than 30 children, to see them learn, grow and connect with learning, ideas and each other. Her classroom was run differently than most classrooms. Educating children was not dependent on the humiliation and shame of turning a card from green to yellow or red. Kristie strove to instill class cohesion, respect for others, and respect for Self. The families she was honored to work with, taught her immeasurably more about family, culture, care, struggle, pain and collaboration. Kristie strongly believes working with parents, and other significant adult influences, is the most effective way to help children. When adults come together to support a child, it creates a felt security for children that is priceless. Children need more security in their world, and in the world. Kristie collaborates to instill that security for children, couples and families.
As a sign language interpreter, Kristie was privileged to be a part of people's most sacred moments: births, deaths, funerals, marriages and everyday moments. These shared experiences are gifts that provided a deepening and education that cannot be bought or earned. Each interpreting experience and interaction contributed greatly to the therapist she is today.
As a therapist, Kristie's motivation is to help you feel, and live, better. Life is hard. Having someone there to help you feel, and live, better is invaluable. It takes a depth of courage to process through pain, to come out freer and lighter. Kristie believes therapy is the most courageous experience anyone can choose. It takes courage, strength and tenacity to delve into your relationship and work hard to make it better. When helping your child through his or her pain and struggle, you must also process, and tend, to your accompanying hurt. Working through therapy is a tremendous gift to yourself and your family. It is not easy, but worth it. Kristie helps you heal well. It takes courage, and a safe therapist you can trust.
